About the GMAT exam
Graduate Management Admission Test (Focus Edition) is one of the better-known exams for study, work or licensing abroad. It is administered by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) and attracts a large number of candidates each cycle. The exam is held available year-round by appointment.
Format of the real exam: Computer-adaptive test at test centres or online. Practising in the same style is the quickest way to remove surprises on exam day, which is exactly why GMAT mock tests matter.
GMAT eligibility
No formal eligibility; business schools publish their own average scores.
Eligibility rules, age limits and relaxations can change between cycles, so always confirm the details in the latest official notification from Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) before you apply.

GMAT syllabus: what to study
The GMAT syllabus is organised around 3 main areas. Plan your preparation so that every area gets a revision cycle before your first full-length mock test.
- Quantitative Reasoning: revise concepts, practise topic-wise questions, then test yourself under timed conditions.
- Verbal Reasoning: revise concepts, practise topic-wise questions, then test yourself under timed conditions.
- Data Insights: revise concepts, practise topic-wise questions, then test yourself under timed conditions.
How to prepare for GMAT
A good GMAT plan combines concept study, topic-wise practice and regular full-length mock tests. Use the checklist below as a starting point.
- Learn to use the question review and edit feature strategically.
- Focus on Data Insights practice, which tests multi-source reasoning unlike other exams.
- Practise accuracy first, because the adaptive engine rewards correct answers on harder questions.
- Analyse every mock test: separate errors into concept gaps, calculation slips and time pressure, and fix one group at a time.
- Keep a short error notebook and revise it weekly, since repeated mistakes cost more marks than new ones.
